To the east of the Sierra Madre Oriental lies a hot, thorny, and unforgiving ecoregion. It is beautiful. It stretches from the mountains of Tamaulipas through the low shrubs of south Texas, and hugs Gulf along the way. It is home to Jaguars, prickly pear cactus, and rattlesnakes. It has also shaped its people, in both Texas and Tamaulipas, into a breed of hard-working nature-loving tough-as-javalina badasses. Our goal is to celebrate the essence of the Tamaulipan Thornscrub.
